Visit to Castlefreke

There was great excitement yesterday morning as children embarked on a whole school trip to Castlefreke Woods as well as the castle. Thank you to Stephen-Evans Freke who welcomed the children inside the castle. They were able to see first hand the work being carried out to restore the plaster ceilings. They also stepped back in time with the help of local historians Aoife Otreba and Timothy Feen through the many wonderful stories that surround Castlefreke and the wider Rathbarry area. There was even time for some impressive den making!
