Harvesting our polytunnel

From a seed to our plate. Children in the Junior room enjoyed making their own pasta sauce with some hidden vegetables inside. So many boys and girls tried it (on their usually plain pasta) because they did grow the ingredients themselves in our school polytunnel. Thanks to our parents gardening group for tending to the polytunnel over the summer months and helping out during the year.

There was a wonderful aroma wafting from the Senior room last Friday afternoon as children put their cooking skills into action to prepare a nourishing vegetable soup. Carrots, potatoes, broccoli and onions from our polytunnel were used in the recipe as well as sweetcorn and parsnips. Well done to all the children in preparing and serving the soup. A big thank you to the parents who made this possible through their care for the polytunnel over the past few months.
